Da Vinci – The Genius exhibition

Da Vinci – The Genius is the most comprehensive exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci to tour the world. It has been shown in more than 40 cities and seen by over 4 million people throughout the world.

Da Vinci – The Genius brings to life the genius of Leonardo as an inventor, artist, scientist, anatomist, engineer, architect, sculptor and philosopher.

The exhibition presents life-size machine inventions faithfully crafted by Italian artisans from Leonardo’s codices. These works include the first concepts of a car, bicycle, helicopter, glider, parachute and military tank, to name a few.

Facsimiles of Leonardo’s most famous codices, anatomical studies, Anghiari battle drawings and Renaissance art also feature, as does the world exclusive ’Secrets of Mona Lisa’. This fascinating Louvre Museum-sanctioned analysis of the iconic painting is the result of several years’ study by renowned scientific engineer, examiner and photographer of fine art, Pascal Cotte.

Suitable for all ages, this amazing exhibition provides a fascinating insight into the mind of a genius and the fundamental scientific and artistic principles he discovered.

Great World Exhibitions launched Da Vinci – The Genius in Cape Town on 27 November 2013. We then brought the exhibition to Johannesburg in March 2014, where it showed until 27 July 2014. Visit www.davincithegenius.com for details.
