A staggering 40 million people in over 90 cities have experienced BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life.
The exhibition includes more than 200 plastinates – specimens preserved through a process of preserving human tissue called ‘plastination’. BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life is the original ground-breaking anatomical exhibition by the trailblazing scientist, Dr Gunther von Hagens. It shows the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of the human body through anatomical studies of the body in distress, disease and optimal health.
Visitors to BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life witness the arc of ageing — the body living through time from conception to old age.
All of the specimens on display originate from donors who gave their informed, legal consent via an established body donation programme.
Tyrone Thöle was co-founder, shareholder and Managing Director of the company that brought BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life to South Africa in 2012. Tyrone then went on to establish Great World Exhibitions, which now employs most of the people who worked on BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life.
